Welcome to Spring and to my brand new podcast!

This is the first of many big announcements coming up and I am thrilled to finally be able to share this one with you. While I really love all the work we did in the Elemental Yin Yang Podcast, I wanted to open up a deeper exploration of what it means to live a spiritual life and still be participating fully in our very busy world.

Navigating parenthood, a career, relationships of all kind and trying to keep up with the speed of life can sometimes feel like it is distracting you from your deeper purpose.

My intention for this podcast is to explore the realities of that challenge and be in conversation with you about how we can keep our purpose at the forefront without checking out of all the other important parts of life.

So welcome to episode one.

In Elemental Yin Yang Yoga, the Winter is a time for yin practice. Meditation, contemplation, inward reflection. But that isn't always easy to do when you have 3 parties every weekend, a list of gifts to buy and you have guests in town.

That's right yogis. The holidays are here and whether you love them or would rather stay home and pretend they don't exist, this episode will have something for you.

If you have things in your life that have run their course you don't want to miss this episode.

Since we are on the cusp of Autumn, it is the perfect time of year to connect to the themes of the Metal Element from Chinese Medicine.

In this episode I take you on an indepth exploration of how to let go gracefully as we discuss the philosophy of the Metal element.

Hint: if you are a yogi you are probably already practicing this art to some degree but this show will help you go further.

Episode 18: Self-Care Strategies

[fa icon="calendar'] Sep 15, 2017 11:15:21 AM / by Erin Aquin

This past weekend I spent time with the soon to be graduates from my Elemental Yin Yang Teacher Training. This amazing group of women has worked very hard during our program together and it was no coincidence that this weekend we talked about the importance of self-care among other things.

*UPDATED: Join me for a deep dive into your self-care beginning in January.Get the details on my brand new Extreme Self-Care Course here*

One thing I noticed is that while this Earth type of support is something most of us know about intellectually, few of us are taking it seriously or doing it well, especially in the help and wellness professions.

In this episode I share some of the features of Earth energy, namely the themes of integrity, devotion and the traps for people who have Earth as their element of primary influence.

Then I give you some very practical suggestions about how to incorporate more conscious and supportive self-care into your weekly routine (and what happened to me when I neglected it).

Episode 17: Rekindle Inspiration When You Are In A Rut

I love my life. I feel truly grateful for the abundance I am swimming in and the work I get to do from being a mother to working with incredible yogis and teachers.

However, I am not immune from having days when I feel down, burned out or just stuck in a rut.

Recently, I found myself in one of those phases.

Several mornings in a row, I woke up exhausted and wondered if I would get anything substantial accomplished.

It didn't feel good.

But after waiting for my mood to shift on its own for a few days, I remembered,

"Hey, I have all these incredible tools I share with other people, why not use a few of those bad boys on my own life?"

What a concept, right?

Episode 13: Spring Cleaning for Your Life Pt 1

Happy Spring!

I thought it would be fun to take some of the ideas we have been discussing over the last few weeks and make room for those things to grow by doing an old fashioned Spring cleaning.

Now I will freely admit I am not a fancy Martha Stewart-type domestic engineer. Not by a long shot.

But I do feel compelled at this time of year to work on my big projects at a desk that isn't covered with paper. And I really like being able to find the book I am looking for without feeling like I am on an archeological dig (check out my newly organized library over there in the image for this episode).

Today we are focusing on Spring Cleaning for your physical space and when it comes to changing your nutritional habits (hint: WITHOUT a 5 day juice cleanse or "herbal detox")

Episode 12: A New Perspective For Spring

Spring is finally here..well just about.

If you missed last week's episode we started to talk about how to use this time of year to get motivated and recommit to your big dreams and goals.

Using the wisdom of Elemental Yin Yang thinking, specifically the Wood Element, this is the perfect time to get to work and utitlize the inspiration and possibility that Springtime promises.

And after you lay the foundation and focus on your work, you will eventually reach a place where you have more perspecitive and freedom than ever before.

Just like an artist who puts in years mastering their craft, when they reach a certain level they have earned wisdom and the respect of their community which makes it possible to start picking and choosing where to show their work rather than having to knock down doors.

The final part of our tree metaphor details the reaching point where you are free to enjoy the fruits of your labour (AKA. THE BEST PART).
